She stand before us, in her cloak of colours, in her dress of rags, fading slowly into memory. She teasingly sheds her garments, and seduces us into her virgin sheets, innocent and corrupt, smiling as she consumes the warmth of the world.
The world has become empty while we napped within her encircling arms, cleansed of sin. Our angel comes, on iced wings of snow,
to sing to us of regret and redemption, in a howling dirge that somehow comforts our troubled souls, and again, we sleep.
And now the rain weeps with our green child, crying out against the pangs of birth. She tumbles, wild haired, among our dreams, waking us to rub our sleepy eyes and gently forget our nightmares. A violent promise of peace to come, she draws us into her whirling dance.
And in the lazy warmth of the early afternoon, we muse upon our own mortality, lulled by the heat of the sun, and her arms reaching out to us once more. 1   |
