fuzzy in an indifferent background.
Your smile wakes up the moment,
heart rendingly beautiful and perfect.
Smoky blue eyes glimmer,
sparking an answering fire inside me.
I am moved to smile softly in
the darkness that has become comfortable
and friendly once again.
A restless night is calmed by your
strong embrace of waiting arms.
A slow-waking morning is warmed
by your presence beside me,
by your presence inside my soul.
The time I have spent pretending
not to be infatuated
has blended into now with a gentle passion,
and a light caress of fingertips
leaves me gasping in the silence.
