Sing To Me

Play me something to rend the soul.
Sing to me of love and hate, of beauty and of death.
Make me smile. Make me weep.
Let me feel the passion and the bitter regret.
Sing to me of homecomings, and abandonment.
Lullay me with my dirge, my eulogy.
Lead me into sorrow, and let me stand
in the quiet of rememberance.
Then, will I name you bard.

You sing to me of highwaymen,
of ladies fair and fae,
brave nights upon the field of war,
the blaring of the trumpet,
the gentle strains of a violin.
You play my heart as you would pluck a harp.
You sing to me of grief and joy,
and in the end, leave me full of hope.
Thus do I name you, Bard.
