Writing in Blood

Every word that flows from my pen in like a drop of blood. The page fills, and all those spots of red allow me to see the pain, but no longer feel it.

(A rewording of a quote from a classmate, in respect to writing essays.)

I journal, because I have to clear my emotions. Sometimes, things are so overwhelming, they shove me under, and I drown in them. Putting this blood, this pain, this joy, upon a sheet of paper draws it out of me, like leeches drawing poison from a wound.
